Tea Tree Therapy

About Us
Company History

Founded in 1997 by Ed Heftman and Suzanne Dean, Tea Tree Therapy was born from an idea that everyone should have access to a safe and natural antiseptic! The Aborigines have been using the tea tree plant for medicinal purposes prior to the 1700’s. Three centuries of use is one heck of a field test!

Suzanne Dean, an Aussie native, is recognized as one of the leading pioneers of tea tree oil and has been one of it’s most ardent supporters for more than 3 decades. Tea Tree Therapy has established itself as the industry leader for more than 15 years by sourcing only the highest quality oil direct from the plantation in Australia. The company is widely regarded as the top manufacturer of tea tree oil in the world and is known for having the highest quality control in the industry. There are no substitutes!

Ed Heftman has had a long and celebrated career in pharmaceutical formulation and sales with companies such as Redken, Jason and Nature Works. His work in formulation and sales laid the ground work for the partnership with Suzanne that helped Tea Tree Therapy become the most sought after oil manufacturer in the industry.

In 2009 Tea Tree Therapy began a partnership with Refreshed Lemon Myrtle to manufacture lemon myrtle (backhousia citriadora), personal care products in the USA. Lemon myrtle is a mild antiseptic with renewing, revitalizing, re-energizing and refreshing with a crisp lemony scent. This rare plant grows in the Byron Bay hinterland of New South Wales, Australia. Tea Tree Therapy is the authorized manufacture and distributor of Refreshed Lemon Myrtle products in the U.S.

Melaleuca alternifolia – When Captain Cook landed in Australia in 1770 he found the locals brewing leaves in a tea for medicinal purposes and he assumed it was tea. He named the plant the tea tree. He soon learned that the Aborigines had many uses for tea tree leaves from soothing headaches and cleaning minor cuts to a host of topical skin ailments and foot fungus’. Tea Tree Therapy continues that legacy today with over 28 products to keep you healthy from head to toe.
