Caprylic/capric triglycerideCaprylic mainly works as an emollient, dispersing agent and solvent.
GlycerinGlycerin is what is called a humectant. Glycerin helps maintain the skin’s water balance on an intercellular level. Glycerin in lotions or other skin care products can help prevent or combat dry skin.
Cetyl alcoholCetyl alcohol is used in the cosmetic industry as an opacifier in shampoos, or as an emollient, emulsifier or thickening agent in the manufacture of skin creams and lotions. It is also employed as a lubricant for nuts and bolts, and is the active ingredient in some “liquid pool covers” (forming a surface layer to reduce evaporation and retain heat).
Stearyl AlcoholStearyl Alcohol is a naturaly fatty alcohol derived from stearic acid, coconut oil or vegetable fatty acids
Stearic acidStearic acid is one of many fatty acids that occur naturally in various plants and animal derivatives. It’s found in such products as animal tallow, cocoa butter and vegetable fats. When it’s used in cosmetic products, stearic acid primarily fulfills the role of a thickener or hardener. Stearic acid is the substance that helps your bar of soap retain its shape — just as it does in products such as candles, oil pastels and hard candies.
Cetearyl alcoholIt is used as an emulsion stabilizer, opacifying agent, and foam boosting surfactant, as well as an aqueous and nonaqueous viscosity-increasing agent. It imparts an emollient feel to the skin and can be used in water-in-oil emulsions, oil-in-water emulsions, and anhydrous formulations.
SqualaneMoisturizes skin
DimethiconeDimethicone and related ingredients are used in the formulation of a wide range of cosmetic and personal care products including cosmetic creams and lotions, bath soaps, shampoo and hair care products.
Aloe BarbadensisAloe Barbadensis leaf juice can soothe skin and serve as an anti-inflammatory. It can be efficiently used topically, because of its burn healing effects, scar reducing and wounds healing properties.
Camellia sinensisCamellia sinensis contains caffeine and it has been used to increase alertness. Green tea has also been used for cancer prevention, to lowercholesterol, and to prevent/delay Parkinson’s disease.
Ginkgo BilobaMemory loss due to brain conditions such as stroke, Alzheimer disease, and dementia. It works by increasing blood flow to the brain.
Lavandula AngustifoliaHelps prevent hair loss. Lavender is used for restlessness, insomnia, nervousness, and depression.
Aleurites moluccanaAleurites Moluccana Seed Oil is the oil expressed from the nuts of the kukui nut tree, also called candlenut tree. Aleurites Moluccana Seed Oil is used in many types of cosmetics and personal care products including bath products, cleansing products, shaving preparations, skin care and hair care products.
Helianthus AnnuusThe seeds have diuretic and expectorant properties and have been employed with success in the treatment of bronchial, laryngeal and pulmonary affections, coughs and colds, also in whooping cough.
Oenothera biennisThe mature seeds contain approximately 7–10% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid. Evening primrose oil (EPO), containing GLA, is often used to treat some medical conditions, and is considered a dietary supplement rather than a drug.
Ascorbic AcidAscorbic acid known as Vitamin C is used to prevent or treat low levels of vitamin C in people who do not get enough of the vitamin from their diets.
Citric acidCitric acid is a normal component of human cells that is metabolized, degraded, and eliminated from the body. Also known as E330, it is one of the main ingredients in the food and beverage industry because it is easily obtained in large quantities, healthy and cheap.
Glycolic acidGlycolic acid, a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane, is commonly found in cleansers, exfoliants, moisturizers and skin treatments designed to produce more smooth and youthful skin. Over-the-counter skin-care products containing glycolic acid are generally safe to use during pregnancy and may be specially suited to treat some pregnancy-related skin problems.
LecithinLecithin is a fat that is essential in the cells of the body. It can be found in many foods, including soybeans and egg yolks. Lecithin is taken as a medicine and is also used in the manufacturing of medicines.
Polysorbate 60Polysorbate 60 is a thickening agent and oily liquid used in cosmetics and skin care formulas “to dissolve in a solvent in which they would not normally dissolve. They also help to form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of the substances to be emulsified,” according to CosmeticsInfo.org.
Potassium hydroxideUsed in hair straighteners and hair wave sets.
Salicylic acidSalicylic Acid is much used as an antipyretic in fevers, especially those of the septicaemic kind, joint relief and arthritis.
Sodium hyaluronateRepairing skin's barrier
Superoxide dismutaseStudies have shown that SOD acts as both an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory in the body, neutralizing the free radicals that can lead to wrinkles and precancerous cell changes.
Tocopheryl AcetateIt is used in a variety of cosmetic and personal care products, including lipstick, eye shadow, blushers, face powders and foundations, moisturizers, skin care products, bath soaps and detergents, and hair conditioners.
Xanthan GumXanthan gum is frequently added to semiliquid cosmetics and lotions. Adding xanthan gum to cosmetic agents allows for a smoother, more even application. Xantham gum can also be found in medications and pills, and has been used alone as a synthetic saliva for people who suffer from dry mouth.
Benzoic acidIt improves the rate of replication of immune cells called macrophages
Glycereth-2 cocoateGlycereth-2 Cocoate is an ester of Coconut Acid and a polyethylene glycol ether of Glycerin containing an average of 2 moles of ethylene oxide.
PhenoxyethanolPhenoxyethanol is chemical preservative which is used in many applications such as cosmetics, vaccines and pharmaceuticals.
